China to See 20% Fall in Iron Ore Arrivals in Mid-to-Late September, SMM Estimates

Iron ore arrivals at China’s major ports will plunge nearly 20% in mid-to-late September, SMM predicts. 

SHANGHAI, Sept. 18 (SMM) – Iron ore arrivals at China’s major ports will plunge nearly 20% in mid-to-late September, SMM predicts. 

About 10.45 million tonnes of iron ore are expected to land in China’s major ports during Sept. 14-28, down 19.3% from 12.95 million tonnes during Sept. 7-21. 

In the same period, shipments from Australia are expected to drop 6.7%, while those from Brazil may increase 2.1%.
